Max takes revenge
Max is sitting outside the rear of his house still devastated about the loss of his wife and child.
Location: Rear of 310 Great Ocean Road, as evidenced by the headland in the distance. As there is no Street View or photos of the rear, we can only take a guess as to where he’s sat exactly, but it’s safe to say it’s on the grounds of the property.
This turns to anger and he runs inside to get his MFP uniform back on again. He takes the Pursuit Special and begins his revenge.
Location: South car park at University of Melbourne.
He then passes through the MFP buildings and onto the motorway.
Location: The Pumping Station (Scienceworks) on Douglas Parade.
Max goes to pay the mechanic a visit to get information on the whereabouts of the gang.
Location: Craigieburn Auto Wreckers, seen previously when Max dropped off the blown-out tyre.
The biker gang leave a pub.
Location: Little River Bed & Breakfast, Flinders Street.
They then steal fuel from a moving truck.
Location: Exford Road.
Swing the Google Street View around and you’ll see the bridge in the second screenshot.
The next shot is of the truck driving back down the hill in the opposite direction.

The next shot of the truck is of it going over the bridge it was headed away from in the previous scene. Max is waiting in the lay-by and casually pulls out once the truck passes him.
Location: Lay-by off Exford Road.
He follows the bikers down a wooded lane.
Location: Metropolitan Farm Road.
In the next shot, we see Max driving through all the bikers, and Johnny gets knocked off his bike.
Location: Kirks Bridge Road facing east. The 3 sets of trees on the horizon and the lake behind Johnny are the clues here.
Max drives over Kirks Bridge, pulls a handbrake turn and races head-on to the bikers.
Location: Bridge Inn Road
He collides with the bikers on Kirks Bridge. Two are grounded and the other two go over the side into the water.
Location: Kirks Bridge on Kirks Bridge Road.
Johnny the Boy stops on a bridge to use a phone.
Location: Princes Freeway. Laverton looking east, where it crosses Railway Avenue. Nowadays the bridge has had tall screens placed either side, so the armco and concrete barrier does not look the same here.
The Toecutter finds photos of Jessie and Sprog in his helmet.
Max has tracked them down – here he monitors their journey from an overpass.
Location: Maltby Bypass facing eastbound.
The bridge is no longer there, but would’ve been around this spot, crossing the motorway from north to south.
Bubba and the Toecutter continue their ride…
…as Max stays behind them, waiting for his chance to pounce. They pass a truck and Max gets stuck behind it, but eventually manages to overtake it.
Location: McCormack’s Road.
The Pursuit Special thunders into the Prohibited Area.
Location: Bacchus Marsh – Balliang Road.
Johnny the Boy, Bubba and Toecutter set up a trap for Max.
Location: Little River – Ripley Road. The You Yangs in the background is the clue here.
Toecutter is the next target. The next few shots are from the high speed chase between the Kawasaki and Pursuit Special.

The high speed chase continues and the Toecutter is forced into an oncoming semi truck. If the front of the truck looks strange to you, it is: it’s a false painted panel that was mounted on the front bars to protect the truck from damage.

There’s only one more person to find.
Location: Little River – Ripley Road.
In this deleted scene taken from tape, Max rests overnight and tends to his wounds.
Location: Rothwell Bridge, Little River.
Max finds Johnny the Boy and chains him to a car, then sets a rudimentary timed explosive device based on the fuel dripping from the car. He tells Johnny that he can either saw through the steel handcuff which will take 10 minutes, or saw through his ankle which will take 5. He then walks off to his car and drives away. As the Pursuit Special crosses the bridge and continues up the hill, the car that Johnny the Boy is handcuffed to explodes in the distance.

The last scene is of Max driving into the distance.
