The motorbike gang
Max relaxes at home with Jessie. Whilst watching TV, it’s apparent that Jessie isn’t comfortable with him making the news. The next morning she’s upset that he has to leave for work a little earlier.

Max waits for Goose in the courtyard of MFP headquarters.
Location: Spotswood Pumping Station (Scienceworks) – the door with grey surround is visible at the back of the courtyard in the Street View.
They go to the underground car park where Barry is keen to show Max the Pursuit Special he’s put together from, in his words, “a piece from here and a piece from there”.
Location: University of Melbourne south car park
Fifi and Labatouche are listening in on their conversation – Labatouche isn’t happy that MFP have to seduce Max with the Pursuit Special to keep him on.
Location: Spotswood Pumping Station – inside the building.
MFP attend the site of a crash on a bridge. Fifi tells Max that Toecutter’s gang are out to get him in revenge for the Nightrider.
Location: Westgate Bridge – the filmmakers had an opportunity to use the bridge as it hadn’t been opened to the public yet.
The bikers roll into a quiet town and cause havoc. They are there to collect the Nightrider’s coffin from the station.
Location: Fraser Street, Clunes.
These two are stood outside what is now the Clunes Pharmacy.
The bikers park up in front of these buildings.
Bubba asks the local mechanic as to the whereabouts of the train station – they are there to “pick up a friend”.
Location: Outside the local Central Garage, recently the Timmermans showroom. The property was sold in 2022.
The man takes the Toecutter, Bubba and others to the train station.
Location: Clunes Train Station.

The burnout was performed in the street in front of the shops the bikers parked outside earlier.
The civilian gets thrown out through the front doors of what is now the Timeless Harmony store. He eventually gets dragged off and tied to a bike, and dragged up and down Fraser Street.
The young couple in the Chevy drive off, nearly running over the Toecutter, who is on his way back to town after hearing the commotion with the civilian.
Location: Clunes-Campbell Town Road. The Chevy is parked down the side of the Garage facing the Clunes Memorial.
The driver is desperate to get away from the bikers.

Street View
The driver thinks he’s got away.
Location: Little River – Ripley Road.
The bikers catch up to them, force them off the road, smash the car up and assault the couple.

Max and Goose are talking to a couple of civilians, when Max answers the call about the assault.
Location: Old Melbourne Road, near Rothwell Bridge.
However, when the Interceptor pulls away, we’re back on Little River – Ripley Road. The mountain to the right and trees on the left side of the road on the horizon are the clues here.
They arrive at the scene where the Chevy lays destroyed, Johnny the Boy is high and lying on the car seat in the middle of the road, the girl is chained from the neck and huddled on the rear seat. The boyfriend was previously seen running across the field adjacent to the car wreck.
Location: Little River – Ripley Road – see above for the place where the Chevy and occupants are attacked.
Bubba signals the Toecutter to pull over and tell him the news: “Johnny the Boy has done it again, this time it’s a scrubber”, referring to the incident above. The Toecutter tells Bubba to go get him and assures him that they will teach him not to behave like that.

Once Bubba rides off, the next shot is of the Halls of Justice.
Location: Junction of Beach Street and Dow Street.
Location: Interiors were shot at the Old Port Melbourne Gasworks (as per the above location). This has been extensively developed but some of the old exterior features remain and are just about recognisable.
Goose is with Johnny the Boy while Bubba watches MFP and a lawyer drive into the Headquarters courtyard. The destroyed Chevy from the biker’s attack is in the foreground.
Location: Spotswood Pumping Station (Scienceworks) on Douglas Parade.
A fight breaks out inside, and spills out to the courtyard when Johnny the Boy is released due to nobody showing up at the arraignment.
In the background is the aforementioned Westgate Bridge.

The bikers including the now-released Johnny the Boy are all relaxing at the beach.
Location: Seaford Pier.
Unfortunately there’s no Street View on the beach but this is the next best thing – a view from the Beach café terrace next to the pier.
Goose visits the Sugartown Cabaret and catches the eye of the singer.
Location: Warehouse Niteclub, 14a Claremont Street, South Yarra. This venue no longer exists as the street has been completely redeveloped.
Meanwhile, outside, Johnny the Boy is sabotaging Goose’s Kawasaki.
The next morning, the Goose gets on his bike to go to work. Little does he know what’s been done to it. He pulls out of a side street.
Location: This was filmed on Claremont Street, South Yarra. The whole street has been redeveloped and is unrecognisable now.
