Goose crashes, Max quits the MFP
Goose begins his journey and is travelling at great speed along the open roads.
Location: Twentynine Mile Road. An ammunition bunker similar to the one used by Roop at the beginning of the film is visible in the background. Swing the Google Street View around to face the other way and you will see the bend in the second screenshot.
The next bend, a right-hand turn, was filmed just further up the road. Note the white gate in the field to the left.
In this shot, Goose is headed north-east. Same road.
In this shot we see the speedo showing 180kph – 112mph…
…and this is how they filmed the scene. Cinematographer David Eggby on the back of a Kawasaki with president of the Vigilanties biker club Terry Gibson driving.
The sabotaged bike finally locks up and sends Goose flying. The You Yangs are in the distance.

This elevated camera position gives us more clues to follow in finding this spot – the second screenshot below has a dirt road that runs between the lakes, and you can just make out an ammo bunker. In Street View, the tree to the left of the bunker looks dead but is there.
Swing this street view round and you will see the left turn in the distance.
Goose drives the Ute back to town.
Location: Twentynine Mile Road. Notice a bunker again in the distance on the left, the white post and the road sign indicating a right turn ahead.
Goose is singing whilst driving, unaware of what surprise lays in store up the road.
Location: (Unconfirmed) Bridge Inn Road
Johnny the Boy throws a large metal object at the moving Ute…
…and it careers off the side of the road and flips over. Goose is stuck in his seatbelt straps.
Johnny rushes over to see the damage.
Bubba and the Toecutter ride over, and push Johnny to set fire to the Ute.
Location: Bridge Inn Road. The road used to go around a quarry which has since been filled in and the road has been straightened. This bend doesn’t exist any more.
The pin is the approximate location of where the Ute rolled over.
Max rushes to see Goose in hospital.
Location: St. George’s Hospital, Cotham Road. The interior scenes were also filmed at the hospital.
Following a nightmare, Max is up early the next morning, trying to make sense of what’s happened to Goose.
He goes to see Fifi to hand in his resignation. Fifi doesn’t want him to leave, and tries to get him to take a long holiday instead.
Location: Spotswood Pumping Station (Interior).
Max and Jessie decide to get away from it all for a while, so go on a long drive. The following set of photos is a montage taken in various places.

Location: (Unconfirmed) Grieve Parade looking towards the Altona Refinery, which is clearly visible in the background. The van is stopped on either Toll Drive or Kororoit Creek Road.

Jessie watches as Max plays Tarzan, using a rope to swing into a river.
Location: Fairfield Park & Boathouse Tea Gardens (unconfirmed)
They go to an auto wrecker’s yard to get a spare tyre repaired.
Location: Craigieburn Auto Wreckers. The area has been totally redeveloped and this location is now unrecognisable.
Jessie and Sprog go to get an ice cream.
Location: Avalon Foreshore Road.
They encounter the bikies, but manage to escape. The distinctive looking property in the below screenshot is still there and recognisable.

Jessie picks up Max from the mechanics and they drive off… “North…. maybe”
It is here that Jessie finds Cundalini’s hand still attached to the chain on the car. They leave their rest stop and go to find help.
The next shot is just a reverse of the one at the beginning of the earlier montage.
They speak to a friend of Max’s who assures them that all will be OK.
They make their way to May’s house.
